Valletta is a city renowned for its grand celebrations: they run the whole gamut from football to politics, from carnival to the feast of a particular saint!!   The parishioners of St. Dominic’s know how to involve themselves in them all!

Here, we are obviously interested in the celebrations held for St.Dominic`s feast.   As a matter of fact, the calendar is strewn with celebrations of all types and degrees, culminating in the feast of St Dominic celebrated on the 4th of August, when this date falls on a Sunday, or, if not, on the Sunday preceding it.

The feast starts off on the Sunday preceding the feast, with a traditional internal procession of St.Dominic. After which come a whole busy week of both Church and external activities culminating with the Pontifical Mass and the much awaited procession through the street of our Capital Valletta.  As said the feast has a very long tradition and can boast a very high standard in various sections such as ; Internal Church Functions, Sacred Music, Church Decorations, Band Marches & beautiful external street decorations. This high standard is annually proven by the numerous crowds that attend the festivities. Thus this high standard brings a lot of responsibility to upkeep and maintain the esteemed position. This does not mean we do not have fun!!! after all we come from the City that organize carnival and the best football support on the island, thus we are very joyous and such sentiment is widely expressed during our feast!

This section will provide you with some snippets of the activities. You may also visit the Multimedia section for some video shots of the feast....but the best move would be to come and join us and experience our Feast!
